Every year, between eight and twelve million animals will enter a shelter, and anywhere from five to nine million will be euthanized. Animal Shelters provide a place to support these animals in need, and help to search for a home for them. Increases in donations allow these places to not only support more animals, but assist new pet owners in the adoption process, as well as help pay the initial costs for a pet. These students led advocacy campaigns to raise awareness of this issue, while securing more donations and volunteers for PAWS Centre County, the local animal shelter.
